Hello again from JAPAN!!

I would like you to introduce the interesting Japanese site. The webmaster of this site is making a lot of 1/32 sized slot model car. As regards with Datsun roadster, He made BRE roadster models, using ARII 1/32 plastic model kit. His works are very great.
The address of the site is:

http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/jwhks661/41809525.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also am impressed by his work, so I have started 1/32 roadster slot car project.
The pics are my project mpdel car.
I have made, as far, BRE lip spoiler, tear drop side markers, trunk handle and hard top.
ARII model ihas the ugly shaped hard top and F-windsheild. I have to do a lot of work to reform it. Then, I have to make sheats, driver, dashboard and many detailed parts to finish the model car.
So I have gotten another project roadster!!
Thank you.

Hello all!!

Today I have done roadster slot car making.

The first picture shows you the 2 roadsters: one is with hard top, and another is with Japanese style roll over bars.
The oblique bars are attached to the horizontal portion of the main bar in the Japanese style roll bar.
(I will show our roll bar at the third picture.)

The second picture shows the mole of the hardtop.

I also drilled the hole for the gasoline cap on the rear quarter panel.
Then, I have painted the surfacer on the models.
I checked the irregular surface on it then smoothen with sandpapers. That is all. I hope you will enjoy it!!

Thank you.

PS: Allen, should I post a new thread about roadster slot car project?

Gen,

Yes, a new discussion thread with the slot car would probably be good.

Gen,
I am impressed with your work!!!
I love building models too, mostly 1/24 scale though.
The 1/32 roadster models are terrible. Did you notice that the hood lettering says "D-A-T-S-A-N"
I like the BRE front spoiler and the hardtop modifications you made.
Where did you find the wheels? They look perfect.

I've built two 1/32 models and one 1/24 model for friends:

Hello Alvin!!

Thank you for your great photos.
I am impressed with your works. You made roadsters so great. I am impressed to see that you painted in red and silver. It is hard to paint well in such a color. Also you finish the chromed parts very well. I would like to know how you finish it. Do you use any type of metal sheet? Or just paint? I think this site is not for model builders. So if OK, please let me know the details in private mail.
As you told ARII kit is very difficult to finish well, Besides DATSAN, there are many points to be reformed. But I think it has very good proportion, while Fujimi roadster gives me somehow square impression. As regards with wheels, I am thinking to use the wheels of ARII 1/32 skyline. It has four Watanabe wheels. I am thinking to have the wheels detail up making wheel nuts with insect pins.
I introduce you and the people loving the model building the Japanese automobile model builder site.

He is a great model-builder making a lot of automobile model.

Allen, I am going to post a new thread after some works of my slot car have done.

Thank you.

Please post the model info here - there are more of us that play with plastic as time allows!

Aren't those models the ones from Model Car magazine? The 1600 with the full engine was insane! I really like those models and have nothing but admiration for the builder's skill...

Funny you should ask! Gen has helped me find a ton of great roadster models and diecasts for an online store idea I've had. Unfortunately, I haven't got that completed, but still working on it. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll see if I have it.
