I like that color. I think with some nice vintage alloy wheels or stock silver wheels with hubcaps, it would look great.

thanks, the wheels i love, to boot they have the tri-tip knock offs which make the wheels look alittle more classic. these are fun cars to play with and roll around in, nothing like having a knuckle dragger to pound the pavement with. i like the slate grey of your ride, wheels make a machine dress up so nice, you should get wheels first then see if you like them with the color. IMHO

I like the color, but not the overall "theme". That is, it's too monochromatic; black interior with black wheels and tires and black vinyl in the edge mouldings on a charcoal gray paint ... it needs something to make it stand out.

If your intent is to have a "ninja-mobile" you're well on your way. (Or a Green Hornet car, or a Batmobile.)

But to my tastes, (and apparently a couple of others), you need some wheels and/or something...

The Panasports (if memory serves) while they have a nice shiny exterior rim, have a center painted section.... and typically it's a dark color.

Why not some nice shiny chrome wheels, or wire wheels, or .... then add a BRE racing stripe or ....

Funny you should mention the Batmobile. The gas crunch has hit Batman as well...

My Dad had a roadster when I was little w/the hub caps and I have always liked that look. I also have a customer w/2 roadsters and 1 of his has the caps. I have the stock steel wheels on the car now so, it would just a matter of prepping them and finding some caps. And I suppose that would be the simplest at this point.

Thanks you guys, I enjoyed all the feed back. I definately have gotten some good ideas from you to think about.

I like the overall look of the car. IMHO, the hubcaps and steelies would be very plain against such a monochromatic car. Very plain stock wheels look best to me on a bright, high contrast car, like red with black interior, or black with red. I would think a set of real standout wheels, either by the design/shape or the color would work.

I used old Westerns, painted the inside of the fins dark charcoal, I really like the look.

It was a bit tedious, The Hound fell asleep watching

Im starting to think the same thing with the hub caps. I do have a different set of wheels that the PO gave me w/the car but, there in really rough shape. They are similar to the ones on the pic I have attatched. As I said though, the condition is not good.I believe the inset of them is gold.

Years ago when I got my first Roadster, I wanted to paint it a metallic charcoal - very similar to your color. I like the chrome, so I wanted to keep all of it. The gold center wheels would look nice with that color I think. I wanted Libre wheels with gray centers for mine.

Funny - I have the Libres now and don't know if I really like them.

gives you a bit more shine if that is what you are after.

Im a huge shutter bug when it comes to taken pics, I have a very happy trigger finger whether Im taking photos or target shooting. So far I have taken quite a few to document all Im doing. In the process now of re-assembling my engine, just got the lower end and the cylinder head back together. Fresh paint in the engine bay and on the block.
The wheels are nice but how are they for keeping them clean? Looks like a pain in the, you know what.

The wheels are nice but how are they for keeping them clean?

I use that powerball thing that goes on the end of a drill for the outside, works well. Otherwise there are several products that are pretty good. Spoke or mesh are more of a pain so some paint that part.
