OK !! The momentum is starting to build. :D

Over the last few days I have spoken to 10 roadster owners in NY and CT who have all shown an interest.
Dave Brisco has been speaking with the NJ contingent and there is similar interest and commitment.
Yesterday I received an e-mail from a Mass roadster owner who indicated a least 3 cars would be making the trip.

I am checking out hotels /motels in the area and will be posting a link soon.

Lets keep spreading word.

Vince
Any new news?
Are there any hotels nearby that anyone is planning on staying at?
Any neighborhoods to avoid?

Thanks
Mark

Local hotel here is OK, about $105.00 a night
http://www.kenilworthinn.com/index.php If I ask the local police, they will probably keep an eye on the lot.
Anyone worried about the car can park at my house, 4 blocks away.
Couple nice local resturants, Excellent Portuguese BBQ place, or BBQ at my place. I can take 4 or 5 people for the night Friday and/or Saturday if you don't mind a couch and the occasional Basset Hound, who might want her couch back. Also 2 local car shows the next day.

There are a couple hotels near the show, Pleasantville NY, rates are a bit higher and ask me or Vince about the town before you book, some are not a great place to park overnight.

Trip is showing 3 hrs Baltimore to my house, 07033 and another hour to the show. Real world varies on the NJ Turnpike.

Hi
I have attached a couple of links to various hotels;

http://www.mytravelguide.com/hotels/cth ... otels.html

http://tourism.westchestergov.com/accom ... tegoryID=3

As you will note, there is nothing really inexpensive in Westchester.
In the immediate area ( 15 to 20 min ) drive from Pleasantville are the towns of " Hawthorne, Rye, Rye Brook, Armonk ,Mt Kisco, Tarrytown and Elmsford " which are all very nice areas and should be safe to park the car. A note about some of the Tarrytown and Elmsford hotels. Some of these hotels are fairly large, catering to the business traveller on the 287/87 corridor and have big parking lots.

I would avoid "White Plains, New Rochelle, and Yonkers" as these are larger cities and the hotels are generally downtown.

Any specific questions please post here or e-mail me ;

Yes --- the weather is looking good !!!!!!

For those who do make the event , when you pull into Castleton St
the brewery is on the left side of the street. The two small parking lots in front will be reserved for a tent and seating. There is a large lot across the street on the right side and a lot at the end of the brewery building. I plan to set up space for our group in either of these lots. I will have 1 or 2 large " Datsun Racing " banners to mark the spot.

A point of clarification. The $ 20 cover is only if you want to eat and get into the band area. The brewery tasting room will be open to the public and there is no charge for the tasting samples and tour.

Any questions , please post here or e mail me.

The Brewery party is from 12 to 7. Music starts at 1 and food around 2.

I think if everyone can gets there between 12 - 1 that would give everyone time to set up, meet, swap stories, ect.

I plan on giving our group a private tour of the brewery and my wife will get a nice group shot of us and the cars.

The rest of the day will be meeting new Datsun friends.

Weather is not looking that good. Forcast is for clouds and sprinkles thru thday with clearing in the afternoon.

The brewery party goes rain or shine . Big 30 X 40 tent for outside and the the brewery holds up to 200 people.

My car will be outside , probably under a tarp , since I dont have a top. If you dont have anything else to do stop by and say hello, I will have my Datsun shirt on.

I will try and set up another date this summer and save the date for May 17, 2008 .

The 1st Annual Datsun meet in Pleasantville NY is now in the books.
Under grey skies and light sprinkles 5 Datsun Roadsters and an additional 8 owners without cars made an appearance. Pictures to follow.
In attendance:

Charlie Brenult
Vince Vaccaro
Gary Smagala
Paul Egan
Andrew Nagy
Tim Murphy
Jerry Krakauer
Paul Fernandez
John Capobianco
Jim Gammon
Mike McGee
Derek Lent
Wes Lent

Jerry Krakauer and Wes Lent were both early Roadster racers and they brought with them pictures and scrapbooks of their
racing on the east coast.

Given the weather on the east coast this weekend it was really great to see so many roadster owners come out. I could only imagine the turn out if we had sunny skies.
