Linda,
Did you take one of the wheel's with you when you went to chatsworth wheel? I had a set of those wheels years ago and they didnt take any special lugs as I remember. They were a dealer option wheel that came on 240Z's, and yes they were made by appliance. I have a set of 5 lug ones right now of the same wheel and they dont take ant special lug nuts.
The ones I had years ago came off my brothers 240z and did not use the large late model style lug nuts as I remember. I do all kinds of Datsuns and would be willing to help if you need it. I am local in Studio City if you would like me to look at them or try some sample lugs I have.

I have not been following this too closely and just hit the photo. CBB is right on. Those are aftermarket wheels, not factory wheels. The factory wheels take the fat lugs - the aftermarket ones should use standard lugs. Now, that having been said, if the hole is oval, then you may need something special. ET and Cragar made two versions of a unilug type wheel that took special washers. ET had oval washers and used a shanked countersunk lug while the Cragars had a large round washer with an offset hole. If yours are standard diameter holes, go down to Autozone and have fun shopping!

The more I thought about it, I restored a set of those in 13 inch and they used standard lug nuts.

Yes I took a wheel down to Chatsworth Tire and the guy knew right away what they were and said that the Kragen lugs I bought (7/16'' mag) would not work. Then he put in a call to some specialty place to see if he could get some lugs. He also mentioned "Roto" lugs. This guy had these wheels on his Z years ago, I think from the dealer so that is why I thought they were "Datsun" wheels, but apparently they are from the dealer but aftermarket by Appliance. It may be that you can get away with certain lugs but the exact right ones reduce "vibration", so they say.
I don't mind being really sure on this because after all, it is the wheel!
True story-My brother forgot to tighten the lugs on his wheel one time and as he was going around the corner of our gravel driveway, he lost a wheel!
I thought my Dad was going to die laughing after he saw my brother was unhurt.....
CBB, thanks for the help offer, Ill PM you to see if we can make something work. Also found some EBAY lugs but would prefer local and soon!
I'll post the final fix as soon as I have it.

The holes in those wheels do look really large, and the offset washers would get the nut centered. The 200SX wheels I just took off seem to use fat lug nuts, about .75 OD and are stamped "Western Wheel" on the inside.

Dave,
I met with Brian, (Crazy Backyard Builder) today to check the wheel lug size.
He was very nice, helpful, and not a bit crazy as far as I could see. ....
The Nissan lug nuts are too small. He had one that I measured as .747OD.
My wheel has holes that are .831 diameter, .62 length, with a outside diameter of 1.292 where the washer and lug head would sit. Wheelcomponents.com had a lug with a .80 diameter but not in the 7/16" thread. So I am checking on the actual specs for the Appliance lugs on EBAY, and if the specs are right I will get those.
Good news was Brian said the wheels are in good shape!
Everything takes a bit of time on a Roadster, eh?

sounds like the crazy rotolugs are the ticket, the washer locates it in the hole. If I were you, i'd go to the oldest speed shop around, find a guy with grey hair and ask him. That usually works for me.

I bought a set of Roto Lugs of EBAY for a difference set of appliance wheels and they fit great in the wheel lug holes (though I haven't run them on the car yet as I am waiting to get some sticky rubber). I would be happy to measure them for you if you need it.

I just got some Falken Ziex ZE-512's 185-60-14from Sears on sale for $42.00 ea, but I would pay close attention when they mount and balance them.

Wheel update:
Well finally got the right lug nuts and washers for my Appliance wheels, 14 x6. Tires are 175/70/14. Here's the story.
The washers are a step mag center washer as seen here, no 6028. It has a shaft OD of .859 and fits snugly into the wheel hole. Inside diameter.70. The head of the washer is 1.12, fits well.

The lug nuts are like this, no 4601 ,ET/AP step mag lug nuts. Shaft diameter.61. It fits into the shaft of the washer.
