Do you guys think I need to replace the seal, also, how much grease needs to be packed in the hub?

the Porterfield part # is DD704 R4-S and mine came from LPI Racing in Bigfork MT. They were just under $100 including shipping and arrived in just a few days.

I would like someone with knowledge to comment on the dents and if they are a concern. The seals are not hard to replace... they pull out and are "pressed" back in using something (wood, socket) as a drift and a hammer. There's a method used to repack wheel bearings. Fill the cavity where the spindle runs with grease.

My guess is the dent is in the outer metal ring of the seal. Some have had that. Yes, most definitely replace the seal and the inner and outer wheel bearings while you are there. You will likely damage the seal when you remove it.

Those rotors look really flat. Likely replaced at some point.
Easy to damage the seal boss when replacing the rotors.
TJP on here has a good method for that.
Remove the seal, and check the inside of the boss (seal surface) for a crack. No cracks allowed.

It looks to me like part of a previously installed seal is still in place. The make many seals that fit and are slightly different in construction and looks as though a rubber covered seal is installed in the remains of a steel and rubber seal. I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like in your pictures.
