Waking up this thread. Any updates on the status of Rallye? I have bought a lot of parts from Dan and his wife and never had any issues.

It would be a shame if they just locked the doors and shut the business down.

Pretty sure they're done, unfortunately.

Yep, they shut down three years ago this month as I recall. Shame that Dann's (in all probability 7 figure) inventory is just collecting dust. There has to be some strategy to sell it off, but darn if that has materialized.

Where's venture capital when it's desirable?

I suspect there's is one Vendor with the means, but if it hasn't happened by now, then it probably won't.

All they have to do is to an inventory and allow a physical inspection and I'll pay cash. That is of course that they won't be charging me their list pricing and some of their pricing was ridiculous.

I was more than willing to pay top dollar from Dann because he had parts that no one else had.

And I would venture to guess that everyone thinks that all vendors have "rediculous pricing" here and there.

Some things never changed. Price discovery wasn’t a thing, apparently.

Selling prices were ridiculous (high) in the 1980s, as were buying prices (low).

I agree. I probably purchased 70% Plus of parts for my 1969 2000 restoration from Ralley back in the late 80's, thru 90's - 2009 I'll take those prices and availability again anytime. I purchased from a new steering wheel with horn button for $125, to a complete New OME Timing chain assembly, encluding upper and lower tensioners and that evil-L for $1250. Looking thru all my old receipts I would not be able to afford everything I purchase new in todays market, plus just finding new available parts for sale is very hard. Those were the days. Ralley original parts catalog and the different pricing leaflets they sent out were fantastic, still have some of them! :)

Because of reasons better left alone, I spent something like $4000+ with Rallye right before they stopped selling.

I pretty much refuse to look at the receipts right now. I also hid them from the boss for other reasons best left alone.
