Hah! Now we are getting somewhere.
Pull the two wires off the back of the universal switch, and have some one stand behind the car while you connect them together.
If they come on, it is the switch.

Test the wires going into the brake pedal switch for 12 volts, one of them should have it. If voltage is found on one then do as Ferg02k says. If switch checks out ok then you have a bad wire going from the switch to the drivers side brake light or a bad ground. If you find the wire going to the brake lights to be compromised but can’t see where, than just run a new wire from the brake switch to the drivers side brake light. You can use friction tape to wrap it to the existing harness.
If no power at either of the wires at the brake pedal switch then
You are going to have to have to follow the wire back to its power source. A look at the wiring diagrams that Curtis so graciously made, that you will find in the tech wiki is your friend. It’s just a mater of a little deceive work with a test light. Good luck
