Hey guys! Very useful information from everyone, going by the vin data, it’s in fact a 1970
Thank you for that! And yes first convertible, have had T tops in the past but never full top back

haha!
It was an st slicktop fun little car but had to downsize at the time and had to part ways :/
We suspect the motor went down to a blown head gasket
And we are 50/50 on staying the original motor route or going the sr20 or vg or vq route, it’s awesome to see many right ups on a lot of swaps on here , haven’t decided though!
First is getting the exterior and interior correct. I need to source a front fender passenger side, the one on is ate up with rust pretty good on the bottom. Also need to source a new hardtop, seats and passenger door; however I did find a guy with a good amount of doors for sale- so one down a few more to go haha!
Glad to be apart of the Datsun/Nissan troupe again, looking forward to meeting as many of y’all as possible at events and such
Which speaking of, East coast events needs some love!
West coast is beautiful tho haha!

Looks like you might have parts from more than one car. The rear panel on your car is from a 1968, where as the 1969-1970 should be different,

Also, the placement of front rectangular turn signals look a bit askew. Might be worth looking at the VIN on the frame.

I’m central, located in Lexington. To the south I have Charlotte and to the north Greensboro and Winston!

Thank you for that resource, I’ll be able to take a look today here shortly, I believe it’s in the 29,000’s, I’ll confirm that!

Vin numbers are located in two places-one on the cowl passenger side of the engine bay. The other is on the frame front left as depicted in the picture below.

I'm hoping to be able to go through the car today and start to remove the interior and see a broader look at what the body will need. Upon first inspection the frame looked fairly decent so hopefully that checks out today as well! I did notice some pretty nasty rust spots that will have to be addressed but Ill get a better look at that today, hopefully there is more good than bad, fingers crossed!

As you may have read, these cars have a horse hair pad that sits between the frame and the body that does a wonderful job of capturing moisture and slowly rusting out the top cap of the frame and body where they meet. I know this may not be what you want to hear, but I would highly recommend pulling the body off the frame. You will want to research how others have supported the body so it does not bend at the door opening with them removed. You can blast the frame, weld in a new cap in places as needed, treat it and paint or powder coat it. Most then use a rubber mat to replace the horse hair.

BAMUZ, apologies, missed your comeback in Jan!!
Not sure of the 'Z Days" activities lately (with COVID and all). Did attend with my roadster a couple times several years ago in Orange Co. Others may have better and accurate feedback.
But the JCCS event is thriving and well, now held at Anaheim Stadium.
