FYI: For those in search of a used set in good condition.
Here are all the 4-bolt pattern cars that have a 4x4.5 inch bolt spacing, according to Mr Gasket.
MAKE MODEL YEAR
Chevrolet Vega 1971-78
Ford Maverick 1970-77
Ford Pinto 1971-80
Nissan/Datsun All 1966-2000
Toyota All 1964-2000
No mention of spacing but at least you know where to start looking.

I could be mistaken, but I think that Mr. Gasket made a boo boo. The standard Ford bolt pattern (after 1968 I believe) for 4 lug cars is 4x4.25. I also recall the Vega being different, but don't recall the specs off hand. Like I said though, I could have this all mixed up. Either way, Caveat Emptor!!!

Sid now that you mentioned it you might be right.
I referenced the info by using their wheel spacer products. Looking at the space it appears to have a slotted lug and not a round one.

If I can find it, I have a wheel application guide around here somewhere. I think that it was from American Racing, but it could have been some other company. For old cars, the 6 cylinder Mustangs from the 60's were 4x4.5 as were the Corvairs. I think that the old Buick Specials with the 13" wheels were also, but I am really not sure about it. I do know that Honda made some cars that have that pattern and most old Toyotas are as well....

It looks like the Konig Rewinds won't work. They are a 14X7 with a -9mm offset. According to the guy it will move the tire outward away form the center of the fender. I need to go the other way.

This seems to be a hot topic again, maybe we need to update the wheel FAQ. I just scored a set of hayashi's and a set of Riken's today and they further confirm what had already thought. If you want to be safe, buy a set of 14x6.5's with an offset between +9 and +15. They'll fit like they were made for the car. You may need to roll rear inner fender lips depending on the tires you're running. 14x7's that fit stock fenders are very specific beasts and so far, not easy to come by. Bottom line is this, the maximum backspace you can run in the rear without tires rubbing on springs is 4.5 inches. Max frontspace on the rears is 3.5 inches. Add that together and you've got a 7 inch wide wheel (8 inches overall width). Do the math and you wind up with a 14x7 with +1/2 inch offset (+12 to +13mm). Even with that, 4.5 inches of backspace may rub on the leaf springs depending on what tires you're running. 14x7 0 offset should work on the front. Those Konig Rewinds might work on the front too, that wouldn't supprise me. In the back, you'd have to move the fender out at least 3/4 inch to make it work though. - I should note that the 14x7 supra rims do fit if the rear fender lips are rolled although again you may get rubbing depending on the tires you use. The supra rims have a +8 offset.

Look for guys selling collections of Z parts. I'm stoked as I just got a full set of hayashi Street II and a full set of Riken mesh wheels all for $225 from a guy clearing out a yard full of Z stuff. There's got to be lots of this sort of thing floating around So Cal. I'd need a huge garage if I lived there.

Thanks oilleak for the exacts specs for that 7 inch rim.
The trick then is to get a tire with an overal width of 8 inches.
Since the overall height limits depends on how the car is lowered or stock height. I am guessing... The 15s will likely be a 50-Series. The 14s will likely be a 60-Series or less
Both tires can be 195 to 215 depending on the rim.
I wonder if 14s with 55-Series in the front and 60-Series in the back will look cool?
