Beautiful work! for those getting started, an oscillating tool makes quick easy work of removing the original sound deadening.

YAAAAASSSSS!!!!
Kudos for daring to be different with the paint color choice....against the red interior it will be stunning. Anxious for more pics with chrome trim. Will you run headrests or keep it like your '66?

Alvin was a great soundboard when we were trying to nail down the color choice, and I very much appreciated his consultation on colors to make sure I was not crazy to try something so different.

I have a pair of 1970 seats for the car that will of course be covered in red. I do not have head rests, and do not plan on running them, but if a future owner of this car decides that they want them, they would be easy to add.

I was very pleased to add the NOS ignition switch from fellow 311s member iloveredmeat to Project Sting-Grey-- love having a key that matches the red interior!

Oh my gosh that looks amazing!

So happy that it went to an extremely worthy project headed by a true artist!

Such great work. I hope to see it in person some time.

Cheers.

Gotta ask , is this a build for a customer or will this beauty be for sale when completed? You never know, I could win a lottery by then.

This car is for sale-- it will likely be listed on Bring a Trailer as soon as it is proven and completed (though it is going to be hard to let it go-- I really like it!)

Bling, Bling

Back to work on Project Sting-Grey-- got some chrome back from the chrome shop so I can finally finish building the doors and windshield frame:

Also going to be getting a huge load of zinc back from the platers this week so can finish assembly on some other parts as well... nice to be making progress again on this project!

As always-- thanks for the kind comments, it certainly is a motivator.

Got about an hour in the shop tonight and put the exterior door handles on and mocked up the headlights, so great to get more stuff off of the table.

Re-plated door check straps and new stopper rubbers:

So when are we gonna see episodes of "Spriso" on the Motor trend network? Such nice work.
