I’m confused, is the engine and trans installed in the car or did you get the leak before even spinning the transmission?

They have been sitting on the car dry for over a decade in storage. It leaked as soon as it got filled.

Our trans tech was very good , but I remember him leaving the input shaft housing hand tight loose a few times ...he had a electric motor to turn the output shaft then tighten/ torque down the housing

Turned out the cover wasn't tightened when it was put back together.

Now gotta figure out why it wasn't getting oil to the top of the engine when spinning the pump 😣 at least it's already pulled.

On a new motor it can take a bit. I pre-lube my cold engine prior to firing it with 12 cranks/cycles and that's not enough to not hear a little rattle for a second before to reaches everywhere. Make sure you're turning the pump the right direction, same as the dizzy rotor... clockwise?

Exactly why pros never do 1st starts with more than 1 or 2 CYL firing ...but on irridium plugs your best to pull the injectors wires
