I ordered from Dean last month and had a great experience with my order process and shipping. We also chatted on the phone for well over an hour going over Datsun's and aviation (two gut-wrenching things to love).

Dean also called me last month when my order did not process cause he knew I needed the part that only he supplies, then walked me through the order system and made sure I had everything I needed to do the job.

I always appreciate the grace shown to me when I screw up, and remember that which is given to you can be passed on as well. It just makes life a lot less "spikey."

Very well said, Greg.
Great words to remember.

I am only posting here since this is the current thread about Datsunparts.com.....

Didn't I read that Dean is opening up ordering at midnight of the first of each month? I just read this on the web site:

"....The Secure order form will be re-opened to place an order June 15th."

Anyone have any idea about this? I was going to be ready to place an order at the end of May...

What ever happened with the OP? it would be nice to say, "I got my order after xx days". Not leaving a closing comment, after starting with a negative comment, is BS, in my opinion. Pat

I got my order in the timeframe as expected. Everything was exceptional - Dean even went out of his way to add something that we discussed even though I told him that it was unnecessary. Everyone has shortcomings, but Dean is doing a great job in my opinion.

I have not heard about my order and have left a message with Dean.
What kind of customer service is that? I ordered from Dean in the past and always was satisfied.
The only information I have is my credit card charge went through from Chase Cards.
I know Dean trolls this site. Will I get my battery tray? How about the heat shield for the 68 2000?
thanks
Kokomo, I just saw this. I wish people would sign their name to queries such as this so I can call them. Did you print the copy of your order form that was sent to you by email? The form specifically says to check your email. That is your confirmation that I received it as well.
My main phone number does not take voice mail and says so on the message. It refers to email which I check all the time. I don't have an email in regards to this and the cell phone had no voice mail on it about a missed order.
I'm working alone and still have 30 orders left from the initial 300 from May, maybe one is yours. As of April 1st the secure order form says 7 to 28 days from the day you order to the day of shipment. That puts the last orders from May 1st to get out by May 29th.
In fact almost all the orders are out.
My customer service has always been remarked here in 311's as the fastest.
I did take the time to post that I am semi-retired as a way of letting people where I am at, but as people know I am here still every day of the week except down to 35 hours instead of 50 hours per week.
Finally, did you get your package? So I want to know.
Sorry I don't troll this site as much as I should, only to post specials, free gifts.
I need to stay off Facebook and here as much as I can to get the work done that is before me.
Time is more valuable and I need to use it well.
By the way, You received a beautiful battery tray and powder coated frame that some people value at $125.00 for absolutely no charge. How did that work for you?

TJP Yes I believe told you that in email and then I rolled it back to June 5th not 15th. I cant do June 1st and I know you understand.
I have 9 masters to cut new molds from and it will take 5 days to get this done so I don't have anyone complaining that I advertise stuff I don't have
or I open June 1st, have 9 parts out of stock, then people can post complaints here about me being out of stock.
Lol There is no winning this game, so as usual I will do my absolute best regardless of the disappointment it may bring.

it's my turn to chime in also.
I am glad you've had roadsters for decades. If you've owned one for decades, you'll know that there are very few places you can get parts from. Dean has made it his life's work to get us the best parts possible to install onto our roadsters and keep us safe at the same time.. Have you ever had to return a part for being defective? I doubt it. Is your hobby car your daily driver and you're waiting for the part so you can fix it and get it on the road? Probably not. Dean has always had what I need and if he didn't, he directed me of where to get it or had an alternative. When was the last time you got a call because there may have been a delay in getting a part? I get a call EVERY time there is a delay. With other Hobby car parts suppliers you get an email with no information other than it's delayed with no eta. Are you mad because you can't get your parts from Dean exactly the same way you go to the car dealer or parts store? I say have some patience. Dean has never steered you or anybody else wrong and the only thing you should be mad about it that he gives you way too much information to get what you want accomplished correctly and the first time. Have you ever read his website? If you want this part go to this part #, if you want this part I have it but it's not as good as this part. Yeah. i don't have time to read everything in one sitting, I have things to do. Being upset because he gave you the rules up front just doesn't help you.
Kokomo, I hope this helps. but please adjust your expectations. You're in Colorado. It has to be shipped and it sucks that you have to wait. But you won't have to wait any longer than absolutely necessary to get your parts. Dean has got your back even if you're mad at him.

My 2 cents worth.

My experience with Datsunparts have been great and I've received my parts on a timely manner. I just know that I should not order parts less than a month before the Japanese Classic Car Show or Solvang Classic Datsun Roadster Show and hope that my order gets filled so I can make it to the show. If I did I am just competing with all the other roadster fellas for parts, so I plan ahead of time. I've even bought parts that I "may" need just so that I have a backup because once a part is NLA, the price goes up. Enjoy your restoration, my Roadster family members, and I hope to see you at one of the upcoming Datsun Roadster show.

Hi folks,

I just went to Dean's to pick-up my order. No issue and parts were ready as promised.

Parts availability for our cars is uber scarce so having folks like Dean, who are de facto helping us stay on the road is critical.

Thanks,
Joseph
