Not nescessarily....Being a truck, and currently set up for lower rpm torque with a small cam, more carburation is not likely to improve things without other work, depending on the rpm to be used. A better 'mixture' delivered to the cylinder and electronic ignition would provide a noticeable improvement, as would, I believe, a 1 1/2" header and good exhaust system.

Hi I have just noticed this post, I have an H20 Motor and box in my shed same as that one, Eng No is
H20 890787, which I bought in Buladelah in NSW, the owner said it came out of a Caball light Truck, the owner had it recond
and shortly after crashed it so scrapped it. so I will follow this post now, They also Powered Nissan Urvans Here.

I'm in a bit of a rush to get this running and out of the yard it's in currently, I've been looking around for a decent Weber and I'm considering the following for an easy jumpstart to getting it near running well:

It's set up for a 2.0 Ford Pinto engine, how close would the jetting be to what's required for my engine?
Any help is appreciated.

Hard to tell on jetting but similar displacement and configuration... would likely work I think.

Is it at all possible to use a forklift distributor in place of my current?

Reading the code on the side, mine seems to be a Mitsubishi (T4T)

Impossible to know without knowing anything about the curve, springs etc. See if you can find cross references.

The timing curve would likely be way off for the truck.
Is there something definitely wrong with your distributor?
It shouldn’t be hard to find someone to go through your distributor over there and fix it up.
Or find the parts and convert it to electronic...

Mine is pretty bad, after a bit of searching I managed to find someone to recommission it for me including the fitting of an EI kit.
I should have that back within the week, and I plan to fit a Weber a little later.
Turns out I had a 32/34 sat around from an old Lada - it seems to be a reasonable choice with new jets etc.

I have a couple of single carb downdraft manifolds, they are pretty small runners and tiny carbs. The heads were similar. forklift crank and timing cover are very different, big chain drives the hydraulic pump

I ran into a similar problem with my old forklift. It was an older model, and I was trying to replace some engine parts. The trouble was the pieces from different models just didn't fit right. I could use features from a newer model to upgrade it, but the compatibility issues were a real headache. It was like trying to fit puzzle pieces where they don't belong.

So, I decided to get a new one instead. I looked around for used forklifts near me and found an excellent deal. I got a 2017 Toyota 8FGU25 for $22,700. It was a great price, and the forklift worked perfectly; no more problems with parts not fitting.
