Yes, 4.45 is down there, but with skill can be set up properly. Most shops don't know how or will make it worse. It's sometimes cheaper and better to start with another head as long as the replacement head doesn't bring along with it a whole new set of problems-they often do, BBW.

I highly recommend using a shop that knows how to rebuild a U20 head. I've sent 4 heads to JT. Two were no good (warped, corroded, or overcut) but he was able to salvage parts (cams, rockers etc) One came out beautifully and the the final one I expect back soon.
I can't recommend JT enough. He knows these engines and he is honest. The shipping cost to Georgia is worth knowing it will be done correctly.

Thanks Shannon! we appreciate the compliment- should not be too much longer on your head, I'll be back in touch with the details.
Erol, Apologies, I mis-read your earlier post. I had 4.45 in MYhead, lol....
if your cylinder head is 4.510, that's only .018-.020ish cut, so well within the useable range.
If I read it right this time....lol, that head can be straightened (not cut) on the bottom and then fixed up nicely.
4.510 is not bad at all..Sorry about the mis-read! Hopefully that is good news.
