I think Nissan did a pretty good job matching gears and final drives to the characteristics of the engine with the U20/5speed, though I do prefer it with the 3.9. As I recall, 70mph was 3200rpms in 5th with the 3.7, 3400-3500 with the 3.9. That puts it right on the cam to not make it sluggish even in top gear when you want to accelerate on the open road.

Rick's Silvia got a set of Bilstein shocks from JT at Datsun Restoration Products. The ride was transformed, just as we have experienced with our roadsters!

I had so much fun ripping this RHD gem through my favorite local road. Now it just needs som sticky, vintage rubber to take advantage of the new Bilsteins!

Always loved that design, have you ever noticed how similar the Silvia and Lancia Fulvia are? Almost like one copied the other and both names end in ia. Hmm.
