Pumpkin/Diff Noise ... Am I making the right call?

Even so, adjusting the lash of the gears is critical, and different bearings will have different thicknesses and hold the pinon and ring is different places. Whine, roar, whatever, there needs to be careful assembly and adjustment to make sure an overhaul is really that.
