When I re-framed my car I had cut the number off the old frame with photo evidence where i took it out. Mine is a 67½ and I needed to keep the numbers right. So mine actually has two numbers on the title.
Great project for you and the kids.

Yep, I've got that under control.

I was actually just wondering if someone offered re-silk-screening service for the VIN plate (not restamping, obviously, but filling in the paint where it's been blasted away on ours).

Thanks for the heads up!

I don't know of anyone that does that but you can buy a new plate and either have it restamped with the numbers or restamp it yourself. Your motor vehicle dept will want the frame number especially since that plate is just screwed on, at least that is how it is in my state.
