It sounds like the original supply line from your tank was inoperative for some reason and the PO blocked it off and then used the return line as a supply line. While this might work, the return does not go as near to the bottom of the tank As the proper supply line. This has probably reduced your usable fuel capacity by at least 2 gallons, maybe 3 or 4. It’s only a 10 gallon thank to begin with, so that unusable fuel is Going to be a major inconvenience. You need to address this problem.

Thanks Mike. That was my assumption as well. This car has not been registered since 2010, so it is possible that the gas is very, very old. I'm going to drop the tank and get it cleaned. Then I will clean out the fuel lines and hook them up proper.

BTW, My folks are in Edmund, OK and I lived there from 1983-1987
