Thank you all,
Very happy with it my only disappointment is that I will have to wait another month or so for the weather to get good enough around here to drive her around some.

In the meantime I’m digging around to find some history about the car, I found a copy of the title from what looks like the previous owner before Pete and looks like Sheba’s from NJ and had the car since 75.
I’ve also found some people who knew Pete and one story I heard is that he saw the car on a flatbed on its way to salvage and stopped the truck and bought it right then and there . He then proceeded to do an extensive restoration

I was also able to communicate with the shop that rebuild the engine from the receipts I found , Pete had them do quite a lot and they build a strong engine for him (.30 overbore, new pistons, valves etc. Polished crank, headwork, etc.), can’t wait to give it its first spin

Came with a nice custom California cover

Picked up some new tires last week ,
the ones on the car look brand new however the date code on them is from 2006 and 14 years mounted is a long time for tires when you know that shelf life is about 10y

I’ve always loved the look of whitewalls on Sora and other light blue car so picked up a set of Uniroyals in 185/70/14 , these will go on the stock wheels once I have them widened to 6” and refinish them in original silver (doing the same process as member sdb8100) the Uniroyals were on sale last week at Walmart US at only 57.46/each

I also picked up a set of OHtsu 195/60/14 for cheap to run on my Enkei Comp 8s while I redo the stock wheels ,
For those Who don’t know OHtsu is the parent company of Falken (both under Sumitomo) and the FP7000 is the direct replacement to the very popular Falken 512 Walmart has them cheaper than everyone else at only 50$ for that size

I hear you on the Otsu tires... I'm having a set of 225/50/16s mounted on my wife's '98 BMW Z3 at Discount Tire today. The very positive reviews and the fact that this is a daily driver makes the $66.33 per tire a screaming deal. I ran Otsu tires on the Roadster 34 years ago. They were one of the first directional tires available after the Good Year "Gator backs" that were out then.

Needed some seat belts to pass inspection so I ordered a set from seatbeltsplus.com after a few owners recommendations
Very happy , they’re nice quality and not expensive

Also cleaning up the engine bay and checking everything before starting her since she’s been at rest the whole winter. saw some coolant liquid on the floor, very little but a leak for sure since I don’t know how long I’ll make sure to top up and need to keep en eye out and see what happens when I start it up

Is the air filter assembly supposed to be that dirty with oil from the PCV? Seems a lot to me (there is degreaser on it in this picture and why it’s wet)

That does look a bit excessive. Only familiar with 2000 SUs and they have a hose from the air cleaner that directs blowby gases back to each front/rear stack and back to intake. Maybe 1600 don’t have that hose? Is there excessive blue smoke out the back when taking off?

Yeah same here , hose connects from PVC to AF assembly and the middle tube directs blowby to each stacks
The stacks and tube are super dirty with caked on oil so Ill soak them in a mix of degreaser and dawn which should with the help of a bristle brush remove most of it.

I plan to repaint it after and ordered a new filter just wondering if it’s normal and like that because it was not cleaned in a while or should I be alert to something else.

Car was last started back in early November and ran for 20-30 minutes test drive and there was no smoke or anything .

Finished cleaning up the engine bay a bit and painted the dashpots and AF assembly
Looks much better IMO, I’ll probably look for another valve cover for cheap and finish it to match

The car had been in storage for the better part of 2-3 years and had only been ran sporadically over that period the longest which was for about 20-30 minutes last year during the test drive. the person that was responsible for the care of the car told me oil was changed recently and gas was good so I was confident to give her a try.

I had initially charged the battery but unfortunately it was totally dead and started to overheat so replace that with a new one with good crank power and she started right away and ran very smooth after 2-3 minutes

Then it was time for our first run  it was very short since the car is not registered for road use yet (closed for Covid-19) but still Wish you guys could see the smile on my face

upper right is my vote for steering wheel... but with silver or chrome spokes over the flat black

Jealous you could get out... we just got another 15cm dump here in Edmonchuk with temps around -10 for the week.
Spring is officially postponed here in the west :(

Yeah the Nardi is my favourite and it’s the 15” version but probably keeping it for my 67.5 SPL
The one on the left of it is a custom C1 corvette wheel, I’ve ordered some leather dye and will refinish it in black , I think it will look great with the blue car

I like the upper left, it looks original/correct for the car

I don't know if the bottom one is exactly the same as mine, but it sure is comfortable vs the thinner ones. However the smaller diameter would increase steering effort some. They are all very nice, and the wood look on upper right is outstanding. What will you use for a center/mount?
