My apologies for not reading carefully that you had rotated the engine. I'd be interested to see a pic of the L.

BTW to follow up on this original post. It was my fault as I hadn't torqued the head yet therefore the gasket wasn't compressed and all too high. I know better, but had a moment where I freaked myself out when I felt the tension and spaced on the fact that the head was sitting higher. All was good once everything torqued.
