Normally, the Sora Blue doesn't do much for me, but I would make an exception for Dan's car or Raul's. Just loverly, they are.

Pete,
You bring up a good point. The Sora Blue looks fantastic on a 1500 (biased opinion there), but is not so nice on a high windshield car. There are colors that look more "vintage" than others. The pale yellow is another - looks good on low windshields, but not so hot on high.

Evan....
As you'll find out over your next 105 years of owning Datsun Roadsters...there is always something to learn and discover about the roadsters.
On my car, I'm sure there has been some repaint work done long, long ago on the car (passenger side fender). However, the front valance appears to still have the original paint.
The car is an original, Sora blue roadster. There are sections which have never been exposed (ie, inside of the trunk which are covered by the original diamond pattern vinyl) which show the true "non-oxidized" color. However, an oddity on the car which I have yet to figure out is some "bleed-through" in several areas in the engine bay (Near the master cylinder) where it appears a Nissan "Turquoise" paint color is showing.
Now...For the roadsters...there were three different Blue colors available:
562 - Turquoise
563 - Sora Blue
567 - Nissan Blue
Yet, it is believed that only the Sora Blue (563) was used on the LHD exported SPL310 1500 roadsters, Dann at Ralleye (a roadster expert) has said he has never seen a LHD 1500 in the Turquoise (562) or Nissan Blue (567) Colors.
My best guess on my car is that possibly the car may have painted (in whole or partially) at the nissan factory in a Turquoise (562) color, then before assembly, finished in Sora Blue (563). or it just may be that brake fluid has chemically interacted with the original paint. or even it may just be weird environmental changes in the paints color which have occurred over the years.
I don't know...this is all part of the fun of these cars.
