If I were you I'd do careful mods to the car, such as a triple carb set up and a mild cam to compliment the carbs, a header and an upgraded ignition. They can always be put back to stock, but should give some performance improvements and certainly a wonderful engine sound! The 240s I've driven tend to get a little nose light at higher speeds than my Roadster, so maybe a period correct airdam or spoiler up front will help.
