Looking good. Wow, the damage to the original motor was catastrophic. Glad you did not give up on her.

No, you don't bury that, you clean it, repaint it, and make a coffee/end table out of it! The broken rod and piston will make good paperweights as well ;)

Nice work, the car looks good, the engine looks fantastic. Hopefully this engine will last for years.

You guys are way too humble. I wanted to wait for this but will throw out some kudos now. First, this was not supposed to go this way. I neither wanted or could afford the time required for this type of project. I'm writing this for those who are straddling the fence on purchase, not as discouragement, but to temper the excitement.
I wanted a driver only, not a major rebuild. That's the way it goes though. So here are some early thanks to those who have checked my attitude. There were several times I wanted to Molotov my car off a cliff, but no longer.
Cktrap,, Jim Tyler, SLOroadster, Steve Pettersen and Curtis have all talked me off the ledge several times. My car has consumed way more of my time than expected or wanted. (at first) Keith calls it bonding. I call it trying to keep my neck from swelling. I have several issues needing resolution, but it's true, I have bonded to the car.
Point being, in no capacity of any group I have dealt with have I found a more dedicated or friendly bunch of folks. I think I'm gonna cry....
Of course if you want to cry go try and buy a turn signal switch new, or a fuse box....
