Re: GM V6 datsun roadster
Camaro shifter had a 17 degree tilt to it so i cut up a mustang shifter to fit the camaro t5. Also bolted the engine to the chassis hopefully for the last time

Mocked up and tacked forward exhaust tubing together. Pretty happy with it.

Re: GM V6 datsun roadster
Looks great! One thing occurs to me as I look at the flex coupler; you might want to tack a SS heat shield between the flex and the oil pan. You don't want to get elevated oil temps in the pan from exhaust heat.

Curious why you didn't opt for dual exhaust.

Re: GM V6 datsun roadster
The look and sound is not my cup of tea, and it takes up quite a bit of space under the car

Re: GM V6 datsun roadster
Separated body and frame. Her old frame front section is pretty heavily bent, to the point the R16s stock headers touched the frame on hard acceleration, and its original steering boxes worm gear was badly chipped.

"Curious why you didn't opt for dual exhaust."
As a point of interest, some racers are going to single exhaust with V type engines. Said to give a good bump in torque, without a loss in horsepower (with a properly spec'd/built system).
Not that it would be needed with a V6 in a roadster....

Re: GM V6 datsun roadster
Didnt really do much in terms of calcs or design for proper scavenging and flow velocity, pretty much solely for packaging sake... Overall yes, this is an exercise in displacement more than anything else. Id be happy with anything close to 150whp to be honest haha.Daryl Smith wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:56 pm "Curious why you didn't opt for dual exhaust."

She's lookin cool and purposeful... one of my favorite views or angles when looking at the car. Every time I go down the stairs and into the garage I get this view... always ALWAYS makes my heart leap, even after 33 years. Excited for you!

Just found this thread & subscribed. I remember this beast when you drove it over here, and how shocked I was when you popped the hood! Did you get the comp springs installed yet?
