Honestly, I love my light flywheel. I cant stand drving cars with stock ones, I keep waiting for them to get going, and then to slow down when I take my foot off the gas.
As for lightening a stock one, the Bob sharp one looks sweet, a friend made one, however it will cost you an arm and a leg in machine work. The ones I did were only about 1 lb heavier than the Bob Sharp one. I have to say the Bob Sharp one looks super cool with all the cutouts.

I have a pair of 13lb steel U20 flywheels that I machined down from the stock 20lb using a Hunter Brake lathe and the BS manual. Its a time consuming effort but I don't pay myself much. I have been using one all summer 2K miles. Works great. I have an aluminum fylwheel for a R16 that weighs in at 5.5lbs but would only use it on a road track.
