Yes, Linda, or even just a part like a jack hole plug.

And if a paint store does a color match then they will have a "paint code " as a result? Also wondering if they do a better color match than an auto body shop.
That green is really beautiful on David's car.
Linda
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

If that store has the meter. Not sure if all do.
Linda wrote: Sun Jun 24, 2018 4:19 pm So, David, I could take the car into an auto paint store and they could color match?
Linda

Paint stores here in WA do. Gets it pretty close if spraying yourself. Not sure about LA tho. Would have to pop in and ask.

Paint code/formula yes, If they use a meter. Custom “dab” mix by hand is difficult to track, the drops of blue, red, brown, white, etc, unless the mixer writes it down.
Pretty sure body shops now charge more for precise matching, (in the fine print).

David: Your car is now sporting my favorite non-stock color. It's phenomenal and really should have been offered by Nissan back in the day. Do you have a time machine?

I know nothing about paint, but a few years ago I had a front bumper painted for my "Chrome Silver" 350z. Even though the body shop had the paint code, they wanted to see the old bumper which they matched up to a book they had with LOTS of different shades of "Chrome Silver".
