Sorry if I'm being blunt, but how much did you expect to spend, from buying a non running car, then paying people to fix it, then turn the key and drive off in a shiny painted car? If it's less than 10-15K, you are being very unrealistic.
Simple ugly fact, if you don't know enough about cars to properly evaluate and repair it, spend the money upfront and buy one that runs and drives, it's cheaper in the long run and you will be happily driving it the next day. Once you go there in person, see what it is and decide to buy it, it's your choice, good or bad. Had the seller concealed damage or falsified something, different story, but this is pretty much what you saw was what you decided to buy and now are regretting it.
Grow up,and stop whining.

Why not finish installing the parts and get it running ? Start with getting it running and install the new parts you have. After that you can see how much more it needs to make you happy or you can then sell it as a running project to someone else for about what you paid. At least you can be more honest

A car in much worse shape, albeit a 2000 just sold for $3800. If it’s not rusty and your missing some parts I saw get to work and try and get it running. At least you’ll get an opportunity to learn how to fix the car.

It’s not the best situation to be in but it could also be a lot worse!

Yeah I’m just going to get it up and running and get it to a nicer condition and then if I decide to sell it I will sell at an accurate amount. I appreciate all your help on here. Some are more blunt than others but that’s ok too because being blunt is needed too which I appreciate. Hopefully I won’t have any issues while registering it at the DMV.

It is encouraging that you are taking heed of the advice offered here. Knowledge and good will are abundant here.

My advise? The first visit to a lawyer is usually free. That visit should give you a realistic idea on how to proceed.

Many would see this as a perfect candidate for a motor swap!

I'm not seeing a lot of missing parts. It looks like you need some hoses and battery cables, and you can get it cranking. If the ignition key wiring isn't working or in good shape, you can run a small wire from the battery to the coil and then "hot wire" it to get it cranking by running a small wire from the battery and touch it to the starter solenoid.

You'll need some interior parts but they are most all available.

Good luck and have fun. Get the car running and stopping (really easy on a 1600) and then you will be hooked.

And, if your counter offer is so fair advertise it for $500 less than you paid, explain all the new, not installed extra parts and it will be gone in a week.

Yeah that’s a fair subject line. I should have walked away once I saw the car in person or done more research. I still think it’s messed up he posted the ad as “complete” and “motor turns” and I should have pushed those issues when I saw it in person. Thanks again for all your comments on here. I still don’t know what to do with the car. Someone said do an engine swap. I’ve seen that done online with the SR20DET engine. Any thoughts? Prices?

meh... I think we can still call them jerks. For the record, they have some parts I want to buy, but I have taken my time because its not a "sweet deal" I need to rush to get... seems like thats where their typical pricing is..

I would start a new build thread called "The Impulse Buy" haha

And, I still think the car was over priced but I am a cheap ass.
