Hey guys. So as you may know I'm a noob to all of this but a very "gitty" and excited noob hahaha. This event looks awesome! But anyways to my question after my noob comment... where is this? Anyone have an address? I want to see how far this is for me and see if I can make the drive with my roadster. I'm in Orange County, CA (Costa Mesa to be specific)
THANKS!

EASY drive from there.. Take the 101 and go a little slower, but enjoy the drive. Or go faster up the 5, across the 46 to Paso, then up 101...
Or to really enjoy the drive, 5 to Frazier Park.. Frazier Park road to 33 north to 46 west.. 46 west to Cholame valley road, north to 198 west to 101..

Great! Thanks for suggestions. Hopefully I can make it. If not at least I’ll make Solvang this year.
I'm trying to register on the ZONC site but it won't accept my Paypal from outside the US... and there are no e-mail links to contact anyone that I can find... you have an address I can email to get registered?
:EDIT: Got an email from Ann, she said to paypal direct to the ZONC store email with my ticket descriptions... Paypal sent, awaiting confirmation from ZONC... Thanks for relaying my query to Ann!

Now, which roadster to drive down from Canada...
Thanks,
Rob,
First, good on you for making the journey!
I have two options for you, straight from the ZONC folks:
1)PayPal the total to storeATzonc.org
2) If that doesn't work, contact Ann Devor: anndevorATgmail.com

Monterey. I drove up last year in my roadster kind of not knowing where to go and what to do. Met some folks along the way and the word is, get a hotel asap and it's going to be expensive. I drove up and camped it for the night, which i think cost me about 70 bucks. Amazing collection of events that weekend.
Hey Rob,
Make a real roadster vacation out of your trip.
Come a week earlier and meet us at the SHEDD Roadster BBQ on Thursday Aug 16.
Then head to Monterey. 2 of us are driving roadsters south from SHEDD to Monterey

That video was great! Definitely gave me inspiration for doing something similar for my drive up to Solvang this year. I really hope I can make this event but I’m still not quite sure. Thanks for the heads up on the hotel info.

I'd love to but I'm squeezing this in last minute as I've already taking my holidays in May and this is an extra week off work (without pay ).
Plan is a three day drive down leaving on the 20th and arriving Monterey on the 22nd. I'm going to see if I can push back in 2 days departing on the Sunday the 26 and back late on the 28th.

Curious who else is heading down from PNW. I'd like to head down from Shedd and make a little vacation out of it, but am not sure I went to head into Monterey from Yosemite with Ted. My preference would be to do the coastal route.
Hotel prices during the prime days of Monterey Car week skyrocket to 2,3-4 times regular prices and may have 2-3 day minimum. Try Salinas or Marina maybe. Highway 1 between Monterey and Carmel is an absolute crawl on weekend but very interesting seeing well dressed Ferrari and Lamborghini owners overheating and wishing they had automatics. Good luck Datsun Roadsters.
There are a few free events especially on Tuesday and Wednesday Aug 21-22. Tuesday Concours on the (Ocean) Avenue 10-5 well worth going (go early to find parking), also Tuesday 3-7 Classic Motorsports Magazine Opening Welcome party on Lighthouse Avenue Pacific Grove. Wednesday Little Car Show pre-1992 1600cc max, free to watch, only first 100 cars accepted in show.
Not sure which Day(s) registered Datsun car owners parked in honored marque area can pay to drive a show lap at Laguna Seca. Anyone know?
Great that Datsun/Nissan finally being honored. Tired of it only going to Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Cobra, BMW, Corvette, etc.
Hope to see you there!
