I always was looking for a '72 but now I'm considering a '71. What are the major differences between a '71 and '72? I thought they only really changed with the '73 emissions requirements.

There is some variation from Series 1 through the Series 4 cars. I believe model year 1972 cars are considered Series 3.

The one thing I like about the 72 over the earlier years is the angle at which the rear short shafts come off the differential. Early years are swept back toward the rear, where 72 they are perpendicular to the drive shaft.
