Mike I have to say congratulations for fearlessly diving into this project.
The fact you're not intimidated can be inspiration for many of us to save the dwindling number of roadworthy examples of the 311.
Seeing the serial number plate -- mid-to-late'68 production -- combined with the ha-ha reference to wiring, reminds me to point out that you will have the old style fuse box, that you'll find in the glove compartment. The rivets on the fuse holder for the headlights work loose after years of heating/cooling, develop resistance = more heat. If there's still a fuse cover, you would see heat-related discoloration.
Quick fix is to get a pigtailed replacement fuse holder like they use for recreational boats, and properly solder it in place of that position on the stock fuse block.
But there's plenty on your list before you get there. Again, congratulations & best wishes.

Thanks for the explanation. I actually live in South Seattle and not in the downtown area. My house was built in 1957 and it still has the Seattle address while my next door neighbor has his as Burien.
Where do I go to look for local event, monthly meet and/or any activity relates to Datsun Roadster?
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome Mike!! Although this isn't a local idea....hop on a plane to LAX or San Jose and drive 2-3 hours to the Solvang Roadster classic in a couple weeks. You'll meet many people from your area and all around, get lots of motivation and ideas for your car, and get to see the great little town of Solvang full of Roadsters!

Just renounce your worshiping of Lucas, the Prince of Darkness, and turn to the land of the Rising Sun.
