Yes, the side markers were removed and the holes fixed with metal.

Nice car my first roadster was a 69 2K. Always liked that car had to sell it was a shame but it found a good home. One comment I see the rear carb has a T not an L and it looks to be hooked to the fuel return line. That would be a bit of a problem as the car will starve for fuel as the RPM goes up. You may want to block off the return line.

My first roadster was a 69 2000 as well. Spanish red.

I still have mine.
IIRC, it needs a restrictor in the return line.
