Daniel, GO GET IT. You'll regret it if you don't. Might be easier with DMV since you owned it once. If not, just buy a wreck with a clear title and........

But I didn't say that.

Daniel,

If you are really lucky...maybe they never transferred the title out of your name.

Usually if the city tows away the car, it is held in impound for 30-45 days. They will contact the last registered owner and demand all storage fees. If the impound and storage fees are not paid, the car will be auctioned off.

So for the rest of the interested folks...give it a few weeks..it may just be up for sale by the city of Alameda.

The strangeness of it all continues. I went by this morning and the car is still there. It hasn't moved as far as I can tell, though somebody pumped up the two flats. They also tore about half of the red tag off. I'm surprised the city hasn't towed it yet, that PD has a pretty mean reputation.

Well it obvious that someone wants to keep the car since they have pumped up the tires and tried to remove the red tag (what's the secret to removing those things anyways? They stick amazingly well and are friggen impossible to get off.) I guess its probably some young kid without enough money to do anything with it.
Man I hope its been transferred outta my name its been like 15yrs!!!
I might stop by to look longingly at it but I don't want another roadster. We don't have the space for it and Irene would KILL me if I brought home another project.

The red sticker can be removed with minimal effort if you soak it with baby oil. Sam

Joe, leave a note. Invite some contact like "Do want to sell this car? Call ###-####". Someone run the plate and see if it's currently registered and who it's registered to (Daniel?).

Get that license plate number and if you an AAA member call them up and provide that license plate number and they will
Tell you if that car is registered.

I figured as soon as I saw somebody had filled the tires, that meant they meant to keep it. I have not been back by to check whether or not it is still there. I trie to upload a pic of the car, but my file format is too large. Right now, I'd rather work on my roadster, so I'll try to get to it later.

Ya man that makes me sad seeing the car like that. When I got it back in 88 or so it was like new on the exterior. New paint, chrome, top, all the weatherstripping...body straight.
It needed an interior badly but back then nobody sold them. I put on fake black sheep skin seat covers and drove it like that for years. Had the original wheels on it too...

Funny, the interior is in pretty nice shape now. Guess whoever has had it got that done, but let the body go. There's a pretty good size dent on the passenger door. The chrome is still pretty good to. Se La Vie

I don't know that they are a kind of rim. I think they are just chromed steelies that you used to be able to buy at your big WalMart style auto supply.

BTW, the car has moved to an unknown location. In other words, it ain't there no more. Hopefully it didn't go to the boneyard.
