I have a couple of fuel pumps (I haven't tested them). I can't make it but if Dave Brisco wants to stop by my place on his way down you are welcome to try them.

Mighty nice of you! I don't want to speak for Dave, but...
He'll stop by and pick 'em up.
Well, I guess I will wait for him to respond.

Food? Cool. Marty has a cowboy hat?
I'll bring the Elec fuel pump for a test if it's here and look and see if I have a pump. Half my Roadster stuff is in NY now. The other Dave, Mblue97 may have a pump, should I detour and and pick it up?
BTW the frame from MG Slayer was last seen being powder coated to go under Dave Freed's 2000. So it LIVES!!!

Which soft top are you installing? Great opportunity for a photo tutorial with all those extra hands there.

I'm installing the soft top that's in my garage.
I got it from Rockauto. We may do the photo tutorial- sounds like a good idea.
Unless no one wants any incriminating evidence that could be used against them in a court of law...

sorry I missed the event... picking up my daughter at college took long than I would have liked. let me know if we plan a future gathering of east coast roadsters. I hope to have mine back on the road soon, refurbished dash is coming home soon. just need to put my baby back together.

I was looking for the Cannonball Run video clip!
We didn't document anything as far as I know. Discovered if you take piece of 1/2"copper pipe, (cut with a tubing cutter so the end is a bit tapered) flatten it a little to an oval and use it as a punch, it makes a perfect clean hole for the twisty through multiple layers of vinyl. We hammered it through the top with a rubber mallet resting on a a 2x4 on the floor as a buck. Assume a piece of 3/8 OD tube would be good for the posties, We got the basic top in place, front bow screwed down and then ran out of good beer, so Duff will fix the details.
MG Slayer appeared from the past, gave me large metal things and I left for the 4+ hour drive home.
Quick review on the Rock Auto top...I believe they are Acme brand, website is a bit hard to figure the application. Material seems OK, the rear fit well, average twisties and postie hardware, not the best not the worst. It was cloudy, and the top was pretty tight going from front twistie over the top to the other front twistie. Some time in the sun would probably help. It didn't give anywhere near the amount of extra material in the front as the tops the vendors sell. This made it harder to work with on the corners. I think I have one more to do with Carl next month.

A good time was had by all. Well, by me at least.
Still don't have the top completed, nor do I have the new gas tank installed. Seems like the new top is also a little too tight. Not as tight as the one we took off, but tighter than it should be. I think I need a set of adjustable top mounts. The fixed ones seem too high.
I think one of my fellow roadster owners may have volunteered a set, but I can't recall who it was. Maybe more beer is in order...
