Shoot!
I just realized (with my better half's prompting) that this is the weekend of a work trip to northern WI.
Bummer.
Maybe all you Chicago Z's could come up to Road America this weekend for a "planning session"....

I really liked that Brewery, along with the Capitol Brewery as well!
Brewery's are good places to get hammered ... paint :smt003

Wow, was it the chance for beer or my arm twisting? I'll see you there.

Ken, I'll swing by Saturday morning at the car show and hang out for a bit. I won't have the roadster as she's down to 3 cylinders and won't be ready in time for this show. But, I need some visual Datsun motivation, so I'll come by & see the show on the 13th.

So, we have one roadster registered. Any more out there close enough to make the trip? Meanwhile...

MAD MAX IS COMING! MAD MAX IS COMING! No, No, that should be MAD MIKE! Not much difference. Yes, “Mad Mike” Taylor will be joining us in Chicago to share his Z pearls of wisdom and recap his path of destruction left along the way from Texas.

Last call…if you register before May 29th, you should still be able to join in the banquet dinner and hopefully snag a t-shirt. REGISTER NOW!

I swung by the car show this morning & chatted with Ken & Tammy Williams, they drove their '67 1600 down from Wisconsin. Then as I was leaving I saw a couple of 2000's parked in the back. Both are from Indiana and looked like well done restorations. I couldn't find the owners, but the red '70 2000 belongs to Blake Neubauer & the silver '69 2000 belongs to Larry Blaszczak. Both motors sporting Mikuni's. Illinois was not well represented, but I'll take the blame for that as my roadster is still sitting in the garage with only three working cylinders. Anyways, always good to see a few roadsters together at a Midwest show.

Thanks for the nice post, DCook. Glad that there was a Roadster presence. Both of those cars were at our Indy Z MW Heritage show in 2013. Very cool cars.Turns out that both my wife and I got sick and we could not make the show that I have been promoting for 6 months. Oh well, next year!

Wow, turned out to be a beautiful day for a car show. It was raining when we left home, so made the trip, top up.
Many beautiful Z's in attendance. From stock, to mild, to wild. Old to new. Even Godzilla, a '15 GTR, made an appearance, and it was for sale. Ours was the only roadster for quite a while. Not even sure when the other two showed up. They were beautiful roadsters, but I never saw the owners.
Unfortunately, we had to leave before the dinner and awards banquet.

I was glad I got a chance to swing by as well. I've owned my Roadster for over 20 years (inherited from my mother, while it sits waiting to be restored), but I've never seen a fully functioning one in person. I was glad to see a couple of great looking examples. I'm a sucker for 240z's as well.

I took a few photos while I was there:
