Did you ever see the teal car or was that the yellow car with the Solex Motor?

If nothing go WAY SOUTH, it should be a piece of cake....... :smt044

We are hoping to drop by after Shasta
When I last saw the yellow it still had a U20 solex, The teal car you let me drive...Remember?? or is that memory blocked??

The yellow was the mount Wilson car.

I think I took that picture. :-) I remember taking a group shot and then having everyone pose solo. That was back when I was doing the Roadster Registry before Steve's site.

Pretty sure that was the day we met Jay Leno in his red "cigar tube with wheels" car. It had a motorcycle engine and weighed all of 750 lbs. He got a ticket that day. I remember in the parking lot after we all shot the shit, him leaving and the deputy got on the radio to let the others know that Jay was heading their way.

Btw, You were a handsome man, not as handsome as myself, of course, but handsome nonetheless. 8)

YES,
That's the photo from the drive when we all chatter with Jay Leno about his LCC Rocket.

Yeah, that was a good day! Jay told us he used to have a roadster, I think back in college. Great shot of Jay!

Now quit digging up pictures and going down memory lane and get that car going!

But.......if you come across more pics, please share.

As the world turns.......

I got the teal roadster in the garage.....I have forgot what its like to work....LOL......
Much more fun to BLOG........

Image

Next up, jack up the car to disconnect the trans or see if I am going to pull the engine only.....
I know pulling the engine and trans is the easiest method for a stock engine.....but the FJ has a center sump pan, so the front of the pan may not hit the cross member.

Maybe tonight....

Off to harbor freight and IPD in the morning.

Might be some Roadster pals in SD to help, Phil. :)

Linda
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Phil, do you think it might be good to maintain that factory "angle"? I know from other Nissan engines the oil pan needs to be level. Oiling issues otherwise.

I agree completely,
I have a modified pan with a front sump and trap doors that I am going to install in the yellow car I had not gotten around to changing the pan (a good thing in retrospect as the engine is going into the 67.5 that is tilted as the original installation)

There is a slight chance I will be able to install one of my Non-shorten Manifolds......We will see.

Yellow is original length...........The bare metal the runners were shorted 3"

After doing a around the house, its back to the roadster.......

I got the old engine out.......

Image

Its always fun to find a treasure......Chrome-moly Light weight flywheel...

Image

Its a shame to put it in a car I am going to sell......but that may never happen.......LOL.......
Its really a good car.......spending a few hours under her and you can see all the care the previous owner lavished upon her.
