I have just sent a number of emails to a few Clarke Rubber stores in Melbourne and will let you know if I find out anything.

Cheers Rob,
I have tried Clarke rubber near me and they said that each store sources their own suppliers,
Its a good job I didn't try contacting Clarke Rubber myself then :smt021

I emailed Hardy a few days ago to see if he could supply a part number.

Look forward to hearing how you get on. I will continue the quest nearer to home.....

Hi Ian,

I spoke with Hardy today about the rubber for the footrest, you know I have been trying to find rubber tube with a ribbed exterior but Hardy uses ribbed sheet to wrap around the footrest.

I have some of this kind of sheet and will send some of it to you if you would like me to.

If so pm me with your address.

Rob

Well, a bit of an update on my reproduction Datsun roadster footrest. No luck finding anything close to the original rubber, so had my own made. Hoop part just back from the chrome shop. Next job is to make the rivets to attach the plastic coated feet back on...

That turned out great! Is that a 3-D printed plastic part? I had considered making one of these for my cars with stainless tube and utilizing an extruded aluminum heat sink for the foot cover anodized black....also riveted on.

Thanks for the praise. I am pleased with it too. Yes, 3D printed the replacement ribbed rubber bit in plastic. I have been told the original "rubber" part is actually PVC. 3D printing is going to get more used in re-producing parts. I have about another 4 or 5 parts to get re-produced for the Silvia this way.

Well, after a long while, mainly as I have many small projects at the go at once for the CSP311, at different stages of completion, the replica option footrest I had been making is finally finished. Pretty pleased, especially as I made the rivets...
