Echoing the above posts, Merry Christmas to all. It's a great group of people and I really enjoy what we all do to keep each others projects going, try to keep Greg somewhat closer to sanity, and have a good time with the cars and the people who own them.

I hope to someday get to Solvang or Shasta and meet a few of you, maybe even in my roadster
Merry Christmas
It's 900 miles closer to go to Watkins Glen, you can caravan with Dave from Michigan .
Greg, Aliens very likely exist, but they don't have cool sports cars, maybe some drive odd cantankerous space ships with side draft thrusters or some such thing, but that doesn't count

You are lucky to have been told the truth by someone who knows.
Believe him.
You can quickly lose credibility when you address this subject, as opinions move naturally in so many directions.
Still, personally, I have no doubt that aliens exist and have frequently visited Earth for at least ten centuries. The Egyptian, Mayan, Astec and Inca cultures have nothing more than outside involvement to explain their beyond amazing advancements at similar ties and with no interaction.
Two stories, both true: 1) my father flew in the Navy and he told me of several UFO encounters that could not be explained by then known technology; and 2) when I was 19 living in Salt Lake City, Utah, I saw five very bright lights in the night's sky, each flying into formation at incredible speed stopping immediately. Standing there for 10 minutes, with each one flying off at two minute intervals. I called the nearby Hill Air Force Base to report what I had seen. The person taking the call said he had received several similar call

Two stories, both true: 1) my father flew in the Navy and he told me of several UFO encounters that could not be explained by then known technology, but were then highly classified; and 2) when I was 19 living in Salt Lake City, Utah, I saw five very bright lights in the night's sky, each flying into formation at incredible speed stopping immediately. They stood aligned for at least ten minutes, with each one flying off at two minute intervals until they were gone. My girlfriend at the time saw the same thing. I called the nearby Hill Air Force Base to report what I had seen. The person taking the call said he had received several similar calls, and an investigation was underway. The next morning, I awoke expecting to see headlines in the local newspaper, but there were none. I called the same number at Hills Air Force Base, and the person on the other end said he had no information on what I was talking about
I learned there were well over a thousand people who saw what I saw and reported it. There is no official record of any of it. I know. I tried under the Freedom of Information Act to get it. "National Security" was the official reason I could not see it. Not that the information does not exist, but that I could not see it.
I really don't know what to make of this. It is not unique to the U.S. This happens all over the world regularly. No one in the authority, save only a few (Google them, Canada and Russia in particular), have dared speak out.
My best guess is that there is a perception that any information will unnecessarily result in mass fear, were this to become known widely. It is seen as being very bad, shaking both faith and politics -- a combination destructive to our very foundation.
Not really Datsun, I know. But very interesting for those of us, like me, who seek to know more.

Best,
What year was that sighting Bob? I think I remember this.
Maybe under the "Merry Christmas" thread, but it won't be long before the aliens are back chasing some folks I meet... "Get the foil, they ain't gonna get my brain!"
I think Bob got absorbed and is now a secret spy sent to infiltrate 311s and learn the secrets we have. Bob saw the aliens in 1973; I had a '73 Datsun PU... His Roadster is black; mine is black. Just way too many coincidences... That proves it... Off to Walmart to get more foil... Unless the aliens are already there... Oh shit...
A good friend of mine has some very high clearance and does projects for the military. We've spoken openly about many many subjects. When I broached the "Alien" subject with him once around a camp fire with a couple of beers, he would not say a word, and would not continue the discussion. He got pretty upset when I kept pushing him and giving him major shit. He finally said "I just can't say anything". Hmm, a good friend for over 30 years and he would not talk. That has made me wonder ever since that day.
