I have about a 3 hour twisty run from Carpinteria thru Ojai and into Solvang from the top I want to drive this year.. Maybe if some of you SuperCarSunday types want to do a test run we could run it one sunday and see how it works.. Lunch in Solvang?

I am about 3 weeks away from having my car running again, but I would be game....don't have to be back anytime special....
Does your route include Pozo road?

I guess I'm a SuperCarSunday type

so I'm in!
In keeping with Garth's suggestions, I will be at the
back of the pack, so I need a map

I had not seen Pozo road, but I will look for it.. and actually Linda, in my opinion when it's like 5 cars, it's more fun if we stay together, so putting you in the back and running away from you would not be my plan..
Edit: Pozo looks to be dirt? Not a deal breaker for me as I kinda enjoyed that stuff on the last one, but there are a lot of people who might not enjoy that as much.. Of course they are missing out on the cow family preparing to charge and of course I was the one in the orange car, but…
My thought was 150 thru back side of Ojai to 33 to 166 to Tepusquet Road to Foxen canyon road to Ballard Canyon road becomes Chalk hill road becomes Attardag road.. Google maps says 3.5 hours so I feel comfortable that without squealing tires it could be done in under 3.. All paved and the samples i took in "street view" looked pretty good pavement..

We did that route one year (missed part of it by wrong turn....LOL)....Most likely more than 6 years ago......We had lunch at what is now "The Place" in Ventucopa, California. I think we rolled in Solvang at 2-3pm.....I believe we left between 8-9 from the Bowling Alley.

I am thinking I might want to stay over and camp somewhere vs driving back. If so maybe get up early to drive back. Just an idea, but I will bring my gear. There is Cachuma and Flying Flags but also a few other possibilities. Will research.
This could be like a mini Melee!

That is an excellent route Mike, 2nd half of Day one of the SoCalTT.
The Place is a complete mess. I'd recommend going the 15-20 miles south. turn on Lockwood canyon, then 2-3 miles of the road is Rodriguez Family burger joint, you go in off the main road ~ 1 mile, shady place to park, and lots of bikers (the nice type)
Much better food and much better service.
The Place can taqke 2 hours to get you a bowl of soup,. I kid you not.

I sure do not want a repeat of the poor service we got on the Angeles Crest fun run.
The Rodriguez family place sounds good or wherever.
Here's hoping Phil is ready in time.
It's been so blazing hot I'm not eager to drive anywhere but near the beach, lately

For anyone coming from north of San Luis Obispo it would be great to gather at the Chevron on Tefft in Nipomo and then caravan to Solvang on the back roads. That's the way I'll be going.

That looks good, just set it up Robert. Doesn't take much to be a Fun Run leader.

Then whoever shows up, goes. Make a few maps in case someone lags.
For the Southern contingent, I sure liked the Frazier Park and /or Ojai route and North from there. We will work it out as the time approaches.
Only 5 more months to go! LOL

I coordinated one of the NorCal groups for Solvang 2013:

If I do the same for 2014, I'll gladly to collaborate with you on the route.
