Thanks Bill, sorry to hear about your tough time at R/A. Actually that's the kind of weekend I'm trying to avoid which is why I want to buy a transmission ready to go. I do most of my own work but there are a few of things I worry about and the engine and transmission are high on that list. Think I'm going to contact Les and see what he has to say.

Thanks Al, I will give him a call. We head to Florida in January so a swing through North Carolina is no problem if it works out that way. Do you know if Sam is going to be at Road America for the Run Off's.

Where in Florida?

We spend time on Pine Island near Fort Myers in the winter. If I drop the transmission off in North Carolina we will come South along the East coast and down to Florida. I see you are in Jacksonville....got any race stuff you wanna sell? I was checking out the LNA web site after I saw Al's post this morning. You guys need to take a look and see what LNA and Bonk Brothers Racing are doing with John Morton's 240Z to get ready for this year's runoffs at Road America. Man, that is a heck of a story.

Thanks, but my car already has the solex set up. I'm starting to think about a limited slip diff for the future. I both autoX and road race my car and the welded diff is a hand full on a tight AutoX course but that's another forum post.

What Nissan did in their later L series boxes was double roll pins, one inside of the other.
On top of this you can run some .035 stainless steel safety wire through the roll pin and around the shift rail twisted off at the end, to keep the pins from backing out and increasing the strength of the joint.

You can barely see, but this is an 84 maxima transmission I rebuilt, and has double roll pins.
