Today I pretty much finished the resto of the console and shift plate. Not quite finished so no pics yet, but after trying the hammerite paint, not liking the color and texture, I settled on rubberized undercoating and really like it. I think it is pretty close to what was on the shift plate, which I assume is the same for the console plate, having to have made my own. BTW, I discovered that you can get a perfect piece of sheet metal to make a plate at your local hardware store, like Home Depot. They sell these painted sheet metal plates in the roofing section that are exactly the right width and gage, and cheap!

I have always used Eastwood.com for all my automotive paints and have never been diappointed. They are specifically designed for this type of application and are dialed in to color matching. Rattle can as good as it gets?
