Comp Springs

Post by toolsnob »

I had the full comp setup on my 69. I didn't find the ride bad unless I was on some really bumpy roads. I liked the lowered look too. But the performance I was after wasn't accomplished until I installed the rear swaybar and that made all the difference. I did find that when I installed the comp springs on my 66 that my shocks had no rebound as they were fully squashed, this was not so with my 69, possibly some irregularities in manufacturing. I will probably do the same with the 70 except I will run Mike Young springs upfront to get the nose level as you still have a boat nose with the nismo comp fronts. The car did handle great.

Comp springs

Hey Will,

If you want some fire power against Alvin, ask him what happens when you cut the front coils and you run a comp oil pan and hit a big rock!

I have nothing against Alvin, he hit a rock, and he bent the tie rods on the frame, big deal. It was an expensive mistake, but repairable. That oil pan could have been rewelded as well.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
