A couple suggestions:

1) Start in San Mateo, drive up Hwy 92 to Skyline, then South on Hwy 35 (Skyline) to La Honda, West on Hwy 84 to Pescadero, North on 1 to Half Moon Bay, and Return to San Mateo via Hwy 92 East. About 1.5 hour drive time from San Mateo and back. Possible stop at Ritz in Half Moon Bay for photo shoot and a cold drink.

2) Start in Berkeley, drive up up Claremont Ave to Grizzly Peak Rd, North Tilden park, then down Wildcat Canyon to San Pablo Dam Rd and Orinda, cross over and take Bear Creek toward Lafayette and Martinez, to Alhamabra Valley Rd to Reliez Valley Rd and Pleasant Hill Rd. End in Lafayette and have a cold drink at Lafayette Park Hotel, or Burgers in Walnut Creek at "The Counter". The Drive would be about 1 Hr 15 min.

2.5) Start by meeting at Dave's garage. Proceed to open garage door. Take a left and grab Porsche keys. Make a u-turn and decide to drive Corvette instead. Have a cold drink from soda machine. Stop for a photo shoot in Aston Martin. End at Dave's garage. Switch keys with Dave and take his Cayman to Laguna Seca. About 2 days drive time.

3) Start in Alum Rock Area East of San Jose, take Hwy 130 East towards Mines Rd, then Mines Rd North into Livermore. End in Livermore wine country at McGrail Vineyards (good view, lots of Roadster Parking). About 1 hour 50 minute drive time.

All these are a "couple hours" and can be done and complete before lunch, back to your other life... all depending on how close you are to the start and end points, of course. And of course, any time anyone wants to take a run up Mt. Diablo, I'm in!!

Sounds good to me! BTW, Alvin - I am taking the Cayman to Laguna March 2. You should come ride with me and your Z-Car garage friends.

Also, We completed the new home and garage construction in Dec... we now have a better place than my old warehouse to gather the local Roadster crew. Let's set a date for a NorCal run!

Photos of detached garage - it sits downhill of the pool and vineyard, a good setting for the '68 "Red Rocket", which clearly is at the end of the rainbow...

I'd be down. Are we talking next weekend during the Super Bowl?

Yes, if anyone wants to call me on crossing the centerline on a fun run, go ahead and mount a camera on my camera mount and see how many times I cross it. (Avoiding objects in the lane does not count. Objects being large rocks, potholes, roadkill ect.) 8)

Keep me posted,
Will
Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

Dave, that is a really nice looking garage you upgraded to!

I would be interested in doing another run soon too. I went on the last mt diablo run back in the fall. I fixed a few things on the roadster since then. But have not driven it much in the last month or so.

Anything going on for February?

Im thinking about Solvang in April. I went last year as a spectator and cought the roadster bug.

Stacey.

Let's move this to a new topic name, since this one indicates a date now passed and some may ignore it as old news. I'm going to propose a couple of dates, I would suggest we do the Hwy 35 - Hwy 84, San Mateo - La Honda - Pescadero - Half Moon Bay run. Maybe Feb 24, weather permitting. So...look for the new thread I will title "Proposed NorCal Fun Run, Skyline - La Honda". Cheers, Dave
