That looks incredible Bob. I have to admit, it probably looks better than original.

I especially like the chromed dash surround.

You are making fast progress on yours - it's good to have some motivation for me to keep working on 275.

Cheers
James

I don't think I've ever seen a 67.5 dash like this and I must say…thank you and well done sir!
I prefer the '66 dash and yours has the best of both!

how did you get the chrome trim ring on the speedo/tach?
beautiful dash finish how was it done?

Jon Frampton. He rebuilt my gauges.

I too prefer the chrome of the 66-67 cars.

Thanks Alvin!!

Bob, wow! You are moving very quickly on #218. A lot different than the last pics I saw. :-) Let me know if you need any jets for tuning those carbs. I have a bunch of spares. Do you have the Mikuni manual? I have one I can send.

Thanks Kyle, but I have the manual and bought and assortment of jets to play with. It is running pretty good now. I have 52.5 pilots, 155 fuels, and 200 airs in it now with the 34 venturis. It idles at 13.1 on the AF meter and dips to 12.6 on quick throttle, and stays up around 13.9-14.2 at higher rpm. It was a idling a little rough, but once I got the carbs balanced it is much better. I can get all the way down to 450 rpm on idle and pretty smooth (i have it set at 850 rpm idle). Of course it will all change when I put some weight on it and drive it (and install the 37's). But it gives me some good practice till then.

with all of the work that Bob has on his plate, he took the time to help me swap out a windshield yesterday that i traded him out of for my 67 i recently purchased. he brought the dash out while i was there, and i just was amazed at how well it turned out. the car will be beautiful and i can't wait to see it complete. the new windshield is very nice, Bob and i sure had a good time spending Saturday with you.

There is not much to report on since early December. I had the body blasted inside and out after making some repairs to it. I then covered it in an epoxy primer/sealer. While on the rotisserie I painted under the dash and painted the underside of the body. I am going to remove from the rotisserie and place on a cart so that I can place the fenders and doors on. I can then line up all the body panels and start smoothen out the body. It has turned really cold for us here in the past few weeks and I loose all motivation when its cold.

I have also had the radiator and heater core rebuilt (Thanks Butch!). I cleaned and powdercoated the heater box and will be assembling/installing it shortly. I will get some pix up on that.

That rotisserie is awesome Bob - what a great way to paint under the dash.

I havent been able to do much since the first of the year. My work has kept me busy and away from home a bunch since the first of the year. I had a few hours to kill yesterday so I moved the body to a temporary frame and bolted it down to it. I was able to get the underside all painted. I will now bolt on fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid so that I can get all my panels straight and align all my gaps, then start blocking it. I hope to paint it soon, but bet it will be months.

Its on the temp frame so I get no overspray or dirty up the restored 218 frame.
