Ed what's going on with the gauges they all look like the typefaces are different sizes?

That style is the Z series with tachometer having bigger font, is more prominent with the speedo and tach close together. When you
make a choice of styles on the AutoMeter custom gauge site the style applies to all the gauges in your selection. They have other styles that have the
same size, but I liked this style. Check out the AutoMeter custom shop and see all of the styles. Something for everyone. Thanks for the input.

I really like the dashboard in the same color as the car, I doubt a lot about that to do that with mine, but I am scared it would be overkill. But on yours with those white gauges look AWESOME! Damn if i didn't bought already that set from Classic Instruments, than I would have gone for your solution. (Also nice you kept the 5 clock style). Are you gonna "paint" the center console also in red, Ed?

I'm kinda going red crazy on this project, but also I'm doing it the way I want. With my 67 2000 car I was "forced" to do it a
specific way and at the time that was what I wanted, this project on the other hand is just going where it is going, no special
goals, just want a clean, semi stock look. Figure stuff out as I go along.
I plan on painting the center console red as well as the original shift plate, so basically everything that was the "wrinkle black"
will be red and everything that was flat silver will still be silver but not that pain in the butt flat silver. Not sure yet what color
for the console vinyl, maybe a light saddle brown. I am also going to paint the sr20 valve cover RED.
Have fun with your project, and thanks for sharing the progress and different solutions you have come up with.

Uploaded a few more pics to photobucket. Finally drove it around the neighborhood. Had a bad turbo, wouldn't boost. Ordered new
turbo. Wow, this thing really moves. Definitely need the mazda posi rearend. Plus the car has just the body so it weighs only about
1700lbs. I wanted to get all the engine issues done before starting final body work. Hate working over a new paint job working on
an engine, etc. May get it done in time for Solvang '14.

Ed, is the Koyo rad a custom made or an existing application?

have you decided on wheels yet?

The koyo radiator is the racing series 53mm core for a mid 90's Honda Del Sol. The fan is a flexalite and is
activated via relay with a stock 240sx in hose temp switch. Car runs a constant 210 degrees, but that is without
the hood on. When fan kicks on it takes about 8 to 10 seconds to cool down. I am going to use the wheels off
my other car for now since I put stock wheels on it. The wheels are Superlites, I think 14x6, with Falcon Azenas. I have
a mazda rx-7 rearend that I will send to Michael to have narrowed and will talk to him about options, preferably a
15" wheel as wide as I can get without fender rub. I can tell you I need as wide a tire as possible and definitely
a posi rearend as this car as it sits is a beast. It accelerates stupid fast. Speedo is not calibrated until I can get it
street legal and take it out on the highway, but in a 2nd gear pull when it hits about 3500 rpm, it takes it about
2 seconds to get to 7200 rpm, and boost gauge shows about 10 to 11 lbs of boost.

I visited your photo site. It's really funny. Seems like we're in a parallel universe, having the same issues, stewing over the same problems,etc, and quite often coming up with similar solutions. I'm still cleaning up wiring. All of the ECU stuff is done. Most of the gauges Tach, Volts, Temp, Oil, Boost, and Wideband are working. Working on VSS to Speedo and ECM now. Also mounting up heater box and blower. Then I'm moving to lights, wipers, heater, signals, etc wiring. So far my wiring is pretty clean. Not perfect mind you but acceptable.

Time is precious for me since I travel Monday thru Friday. I figure if I just get one thing accomplished every weekend (no matter how small), I'm plowing forward.Fortunately I'm under no time constraints.

Oh yea, I haven't started brake line runs yet- so your photos are most helpful. Thanks

What size exhaust are you running?

I plan on using a 2 1/2" exhaust. Still have to take it to the shop. So it is kinda loud right now.

You should see his other car. If this is at all like his other SRL, it should be amazing.
