Hi,
Back on topic for a second, down here in Sydney (Australia) I filled up this morning and paid AU$1.14/litre. 1 US gallon is about the same as 3.78 litres.
So, if I get the math right (here goes nothing) then I am paying about AU$4.31/gallon. With the current exchange rate that works out to be about US$3.14/gallon...
So, I think you guys have it cheap.
One thing I did notice though and that is the octane rating?
I am using what is called "Premium Unleaded" (I try and always get Shell Optimax as it has a higher RON) over hear and I believe that it is over 96RON (Octane). Shell Optimax is 98 Octane. I guess we get better quality fuel for the price premium?
Oh, I then also add 1/2 bottle of fuel booster to each tank (one bottle is AU$20) so an extra AU$10 each time I fill up.
Lucky I don't use my roadster as a daily driver
Australia also has enough oil to produce about 70% of its requirement (I believe) and we get hit with this "world market" dribble from our politicians too!
Anyhow, don't think about the cost... think about the enjoyment!

Hey Stu,
You forgot to mention the all important cost of Coke!
At between AU$0.80 to AU$1.00 per litre it's cheaper than petrol!!
Still, I do enjoy the sound of the Webers in my roadster slurping down all that fuel when I mash the pedal!! Heaps more fun than Coke!!!!

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the correction and I have to agree with you... nothing quite sounds the same as a "genuine" sports car chewing the juice!
