OK, I finally replaced my energy suspension urethane mount with an Advance Anchor 2268. Had to modify the mount to fit. (just cutting the corners) Everything else lined up with previous mods.

What a difference - all the vibration is gone. Slight change in acceleration performance - but more drivable.

Guess I should have done this sooner...

OK, I'm sold. I'm going to assume Energy Suspension made a very rigid mount, as the application is for up to IIRC 600 HP, so too stiff for a Datsun. I did the original write-up on the urethane mount in my 69, never drove it with a rubber mount, so nothing to compare it to. The vibration has always been annoying, so I'll try the rubber mount as soon as it's out of winter storage.

Steve, can we add a line to the write up mentioning that there may be vibration issues?

Does anybody know or have a picture of the location of the mark on the small yoke-shaft on the 5-speed? I am putting mine back in and I can find the mark on the large section of the driveshaft near the splines - but I don't see anything on the small section.

Thanks!
James

Has anyone posted and illustration of the correct orientations of the drive shaft in it's proper orientation when installed for a 4speed ??

I'm having difficulty visualizing how to reinstall it. The one time I forget to make alignment marks on a piece prior to removal, blast... :cry

Thanks

You need to look carefully for it but there are stamped O’s that clock the drive shaft and yoke.

So, silly question, but final answer:
Were these judged to be too stiff for aggressive street applications?
