DAC21, thanks for the additional information. So, it sounds like somewhere along the line a P.O. eliminated the right angle adapter as my car does not currently have one. I guess that in addition to replacing the pinion, I should also order the right angle adaptor and a new cable to insure that it is the correct length. I have found the pinion at several of the vendor sites but have not researched the right angle adaptor and new cable. Can anybody point me to the right vendor for these parts from experience?
You should post a new thread for tracking down an adapter. If you have no luck I would try Jim at Datsun Reproduction Products, or Ross at Sports Imports Canada.
