Sid, add it to the "Ship to Dave" box if you don't want to bother with Ebay.
but dimensions /photos would be good.

Looks like the holes need moved forward 3/4" and cross lowered about 1.5". But, I might need to put a 4 speed back in (if I blow the 5sp tranny racing). So I either buy or build another. Maybe a custom cross memebr is best so I have the current one as back-up.

i assume this swap is for a 67?

i did this swap on my 66 a couple years ago.. u-20 with 5 spd. theres a lot of good info on this swap on this site. but i do remember, i used the 4spd mount (insulator), although just about everything i read said to use the 5spd.. and i believe i used the 66 (1600) crossmemeber,i think i remember flipping it and using different mounting holes.. i remember you need the 90* fitting from the 4spd for the speedo connection. i cut a small access hole in the trans tunnel to get to it. it took a bit of head scratching, but its been and working well for 2 years!

good luck!

I would put a wanted post up for the crossmembers, they are out there. Cutting and welding the 4 speed crossmember took half an hour, had I moved the holes, would be all set.

Thanks to 23yrRebuild, I have a very nice X-member for my 5-speed swap.

A couple pics and some details.

The 5-speed XM is shorter (1-5/8" vs. 2-13/16" tall) and moves the transmission bolt mounting holes aft (about 11/16").

The tranny mount is in front of the X in the vehicle frame, thus the shorter of the trapezoid sides is aft. Note that the transmission mount is also different for a 4-speed to a 5-speed.

Yup, creeper and a drill, early springtime. Steve, can we add a link to this on the WIKI article?

Thanks for the info!

Great info thanks for that, I'll need that as I am (eventually) going to re-assemble the 5-speed I have for my H20/1600.
I am sure I have all the other bits, just not sure what I have on the Crossmember. This will be very helpful!

With the 5-speed install in my 310, the speedo is off about 30%. I haven't sourced the proper speedo pinion yet.

I slotted the tranny support bracket on my car and the engine sits fine now. There's only a *very* slight bend in the motor mounts, not even close to being as severe as the picture in this post.

Re-opening this post!

OK I have the correct 5 speed crossmember, and I THINK I have the 5 speed transmission rubber mount. I have the exact same problem as the original poster.
So can someone out there clarify something for me?
1) Is there a different "offset" for the 5 speed mount versus the 4 speed mount (the rubber one)
2) Is the frame where the cross member mounts on a 67.5 drilled differently for a four speed versus a 5 speed?

I know everything else is correct (I double checked EVERYTHING) except for the new tranny mount, I know I ordered a 5 speed mount, but have no way to tell if I was shipped the correct, or incorrect part. If someone is able to measure these mounts sids by side I would be deeply appreciative!!!

This is on my 67.5 1600, that has an H20 block and (now) a 5 speed transmission.

Thanks in advance!! (It's so darn close!!!!!)
Tom

I was under the impression they differed in the bolt hole diameter and/or stud size. all appear to have the upper set of holes/studs directly above the lower.
Here's some pics of a successful install on the correct crossmember.
I'm getting under to correct mine in 2 weeks, the magic parts car yielded a 5 speed crossmember :D

Dave:
Thanks, but I am not using the Energy Suspension mount, I am using a stock mount. But if that picture is of a 5 speed mount, then I may have the wrong thing. The late four and 5 speed mounts look alike, except that the 5 speed has the"hollow space" or depression - my new mount does not have this. I thinks possibly the vendor hath sent the wrong one? Again, any one have a measurement comparing the stock 5 speed to the stock 4 speed rubber mount?

I was speaking of the stock mounts. I looked at Rallye for pics,
http://www.datsunroadster.com/PIC_PAGES ... 113-02.htm
http://www.datsunroadster.com/PIC_PAGES ... -04_05.htm
There are a total of 3 different mounts for 1600, 1 for 2000 (and 1 for 1500, which is different from all the others)
