Yes. The float chamber needs to be at atmospheric pressure.

There are threads here about how to get to the latch from the wheel well or passenger compartment I think. I know it's here, and I have read it - but don't know exactly where - search should be your friend here.

It isn't difficult. Get a 3 foot or slightly longer rod, conduit, 1x1 or something to use as a push rod. Jack up the passenger side. View through the passenger front wheelwell with a flashlight. On my car, I could put the rod between the inner fender and a brake line and it lined up great. Have someone working on the hood - pushing down and lifting, trying to shift side to side, etc - while you push with the push lever. I did it by myself and it was not terrible.

And another reminder for us to install the emergency back up hood and trunk Releases! Good luck, be patient, you'll get it!

MRaitch, something else that can help; When replacing the starter, often the brace that is in your way is cut out, or cut along the top then bent out of the way, or you can even do as I did, and cut it away except for 1/2 inch along the top and side, then make a replacement panel that screws in. This will help the access to the latch a lot.

Excellent! Adjust the existing, add the new, then adjust the latch - it is likely slightly off and the car being tilted may have put it in the sweet spot.

Can anyone confirm that either of these is the correct champion radiator for a 68? It is listed that it will work, but I dont trust amazon and I dont see it listed as a Champion radiator anywhere

If indeed Champion and a '68, likely be ok, the issue seems to be with the later steering box. Can't speak for the 2L though.

Be sure it is a Champion for best quality, lots of aftermarket ones that have lesser warranties because they classify them as racing radiators lol

Simon, the top one is a 1600 unit the bottom is a 2000. Look at the filler neck - the 1600 doesn't have one.

My header to tailpipe gasket has failed and I'm hoping to source one locally. In my search I see some soft aluminum gaskets that claim long life and durability. Does anyone have experience with these and if so are there any cons to their use?

I need to take the dash out to remove the heater controls and some other items, Im curious if the dash has a metal shell behind the softer skin thats cracked?
