That looks great. Stop adding up costs, it only hurts, and detracts from the beauty that is starting to bloom big time. I really enjoy seeing your progress!

Black baby, black! And after all this work, block 3 times! You know how it is... once the color's shot, it's too late! I know how long it takes, and after a time you just want to be done. Wish I had spent just a bit more time on my rockers. I was foolishingly thinking "oh, they don't have to be PERFECT... they won't show that much...". Now I look at them and think "what WAS I thinking?" They're not bad, just not as good as they could have been... coulda shoulda...

Thanks Notop
Sometimes the best plan. is no plan. I'm not very meticulous when it comes to the books.
Schedule seems to be the priority these days. Heavy pollen is coming in April.

It is looking great. I decided to keep as much filler off the car as possible and therefore I have a lot of waves in the the car. It gives it character!! Love seeing the progress, keep it up.

Same here, My cars are drivers.
Thanks Zip
Ive been hammering and dollying quite a bit. This tin takes to "working" quite well. Once I get the momentum going (lots of light tapping), it starts moving. Rather than one bang.
Andy is /was pretty banged up.

Character.
When I was prepping the jambs I waffled on filling the spot welds or not. They were sandblasted so filler would have been easy.
Years ago I worked at a shop that painted a 240z for a guy. Every friday when he was to pick up his car he nit picked TINY stuff. One item was spot welds in the jambs. We had that car for a year.
IIRC my boss threatened to sick his attorney on him. Honestly, I dont think he had the money to pay for all the work we had done.
Dont be that guy.
Hammered and dollied for a couple of hours. The rear panel was not previously overworked,(stretched from previous bodywork) so it came back decent. 1 smear should do it. Worked the splash and lock hole too. sandblasted, smeared.

After working the rear panel, I realize the roadster is small. On most cars one can use a machine do do most of the sanding, (90 percent). As for the roadster, the machines dont fit anywhere! Alot of hand sanding and finishing. (80 percent). I have improvised with carboard tubes, and rubber blocks cut to size. I am looking forward to finishing the rear deck and the front cowl (machine time

).

It's really coming together nicely and black should be no problem for you - your attention to detail is awesome.

Hey, I just went through this thread again....are you in need of the side windows and such? I'm gonna be stripping all my doors aside from the latches. You can have it if you want/need. I just don't have the non opening vent qtr windows.

Andy was empty of everything. It would be nice to open the doors from the inside. I do need one side window,,and the reg,,and both guides. I have both wings.

Ill bring my welding mask eh. RV parking?
Machine sanding,,,fooled myself for about 3 minutes. more curves. The top of the car arcs from side to side, and fwd aft. The fwd corner of the boot where it meets the 1/4 was challenging. Success.
Boy I sure would like to toss it all together with the LeMans, and stand back and stare. But I need to keep moving. so close.
